10 Ton Book ChallengeSince its establishment in 1999, the Illinois Literacy Foundation has worked to provide literacy opportunities throughout the state. One such effort is called the "10 Ton Book Challenge".

Each year the Foundation sends books to schools in Illinois to support reading skills and ensure students reach their highest potential.  Books have been sent to children in Alexander, Johnson, Brown, Perry, McDonough, Pulaski, Franklin, Hardin, Jackson and Lawrence counties. To cover this geographical area, it took 10 tons of books!

Pictured are 5th graders at West Prairie Middle School as they select their books!

Thank you Illinois Literacy Foundation for your annual support!
